Colorado State Approved - Concealed Carry Course


Our program is designed to get the novice shooter up and safely shooting with just one training course or provide an experienced shooter a refresher in basic guns safety and handling.  We’re not only covering the basics, we’re are also providing a full concealed carry course that is geared toward getting the novice or experienced shooter up to speed with what’s needed to apply for a Colorado Concealed Carry Permit from your local sheriff’s department, upon the successful completion of the course.  Our course meets and exceeds all the state requirements necessary to apply for  a Colorado Concealed Carry Permit and is taught by an NRA Certified Firearms Instructor.  Our entire course is taught in one location in the Longmont area at which we are proud to offer an onsite range for hands-on instructions and required range qualification.  Handguns will be provided free of extra charge for our course and ammunition may be purchased onsite or you may provide your own gun and ammunition.


Course Outline


Using the NRA training method of Total Participant Involvement, our combination course provides the shooter the opportunity for hands on learning in the following areas:

  1. •Safe firearm handling

  2. •Firearm parts and operation

  3. •Classroom exposure to many types of weapons including revolvers, pistols, rifles and shotguns

  4. •Ammunition and its function

  5. •Shooting fundamentals and an opportunity to develop them on the range

  6. •How to select, clean and store a firearm

  7. •Review of various activities available to help participants develop and improve their shooting skills

  8. •Types of firearms that work well for concealed carry

  9. •Holster selection and methods of carry

  10. •Ammunition selection for a carry weapon

  11. •Mental readiness - “The Combat Mindset”

  12. •Specific threats you may face while carrying or while at home

  13. •Proper interaction with law enforcement officers while carrying

  14. •Use of lethal force

  15. •What steps to take after the use of lethal force

  16. •Range qualification


Our course to taught on a flexible schedule that can be adjusted to fit the student’s needs.  The total instruction time is approximately 20-hours, half of which is actual hand-on range time.  Night classes are available as needed.  Please call or email with any questions or to sign up for our next available class.

In addition to the course listed above we also offer advanced one-on-one classes to our prior students for $35.00/hour.
